About the Author

R.C. Hibbeler graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana with a BS in Civil Engineering (majoring in Structures) and an MS in Nuclear Engineering. He obtained his PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Northwestern University. Professor Hibbeler’s professional experience includes postdoctoral work in reactor safety and analysis at Argonne National Laboratory, and structural and stress analysis work at Chicago Bridge and Iron, as well as at Sargent and Lundy in Chicago. He has practiced engineering in Ohio, New York, and Louisiana.   Professor Hibbeler currently teaches both civil and mechanical engineering courses at the University of Louisiana— Lafayette. In the past, he has taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana, Youngstown State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Union College.

I am self studying, so I need a textbook clearly written, with good examples, and some worked out answers in the back of the book. This book does that. A great textbook for self study.I did a self study of calculus before buying the book and I am glad I did. The math is more than trigonometry so you should be somewhat comfortable with calculus, such as finding center of mass.I wish other textbooks were this good.

It was the SI version, when I called and asked if it was the same as the regular version they told me it was then when I received it the problems didn't match up and there are no solutions for it. It is not the same book as the hard copy even though that's what it's under. Do not order the paper back unless you are 100% sure that you're using the different version. Now I might be out 90 bucks and still have to buy the book for my class somewhere else.

This class was pretty hard, but the book made it easier. It is very good at explaining the topics, and providing relevant examples of said topics. After two years of college this is by far my favorite textbook. It's so good I decided to write a review!

Another in a long line of useless textbooks. This book seems to go out of the way to make the homework problems nothing like the examples. Don't waste your money. If you must have it, rent it or better yet, copy the sections you need from somewhere for free.

The book comes with a link to an e-text, what a life saver! The book arrived in great condition.

I just dont like the fact that you cant use this version of the book in any device other than windows 7. i mean i got an android phone and i'd love to be able to peak at it when i need to. i mean this is a book for college students...the least amazon can do is make it accessible in all devices!!

About the Author Leonard J. Brooks is Professor of Business Ethics & Accounting at the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto. He is Executive Director of the Clarkson Centre for Business Ethics & Board Effectiveness, Director of the Professional Accounting Centre, the Master of Management & Professional Accounting Program, and the Master of Forensic Accounting Program (formerly the Diploma in Investigative & Forensic Accounting Program). Professor Brooks served 14 years on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Business Ethics and as Founding Editor of Corporate Ethics Monitor, a pioneering bimonthly publication. He has published articles on ethics issues in the Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting Organizations and Society, Canadian Accounting Perspectives, and Business & Society. He authored BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL ETHICS FOR ACCOUNTANTS, 2E; ETHICS & GOVERNANCE: DEVELOPING AND MAINTAINING AN ETHICAL CORPORATE CULTURE, 4E; and PRINCIPLES OF STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: THE CLARKSON PRINCIPLES. Professor Brooks also authored/edited the research monograph CANADIAN CORPORATE SOCIAL PERFORMANCE. Professor Brooks is also a former director of the Canadian Centre for Ethics & Corporate Policy and a former president of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association.Paul Dunn is an Associate Professor of Business Ethics and the Chair of the Organizational Behaviour, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship and Ethics department at the Goodman School of Business, Brock University. Dr. Dunn holds two degrees in philosophy: a bachelor's and a master's, both from the University of Toronto. He also holds a doctorate in accounting from Boston University. He is also a CPA and was a practicing chartered accountant in downtown Toronto for a dozen years. Dr. Dunn's research focuses on corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. His work has been published in a variety of scholarly journals, including Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Management, Business & Society, Journal of Management and Governance and Business Ethics Quarterly. About the Author
Ronald L. Taylor, Ed.D. is currently professor of Exceptional Student Education at Florida Atlantic University. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Psychology at Austin College and Trinity University. He received his doctorate in Special Education from the University of Houston. Prior to coming to Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Taylor was a school psychologist and consulting teacher for a Title III grant that focused on working with culturally diverse students. He also served on the faculty in Special Education at Boston University. Dr. Taylor has published extensively, including 8 books (18 counting various editions) and over 20 chapters and 90 articles. He is currently completing the eighth edition of his assessment text, Assessment of Exceptional Students: Educational and Psychological Procedures. He has received over 2 million dollars in grant funding. He is active in several professional organizations, having made over 60 presentations, and was editor of Diagnostique, the journal for the assessment division of the Council for Exceptional Children.
